Using a 45* miter joint on the corners of this bench lets the grain continuously flow down the legs from the top. The corner joints are reinforced with floating tenons to guarantee strength for decades. On this particular piece, we added curly mango caps to the legs, but that is not necessary. Incorporating the sapwood into the front of the bench gives a very organic feel. The grain in each bench will be different, giving each piece a completely unique appearance. Outdoor bench. Finished in UV and water resistant conversion varnish, this bench is built for outdoor use. Live edge top is paired with straight, clean lines on the legs. A bow tie is stabilizing a crack in the bottom of the leg.
