Vacation, Projects, More Vacations...

Our last blog post was on 12/13, so this is more than a month later. I know, horribly inconsistent. I'm going to step my game up and post more. Anyhow, Kristina and I went to California for two weeks over the holidays. We've been doing a lot of vacationing for two new small business owners, but we've gotta take some time off! I won't put too many pictures of our trip up, but here are two highlights.

Our friend Pete Lipnicki is a super talented photographer, and one Wednesday morning, he came to hang out and take some pictures of our shop. Here are a few of them; he'll post a story on his new website, below.

I tried to make a build album of this walnut countertop organizer. Our client drew up plans for it, and wanted to model the piece after an old schoolhouse desk. We chose to make it out of walnut, and I found some really beautifully figured wood from Plywood Hawaii.

The last project I'll go into on this post is refurbishing an antique coffee table. This table spent some time outside, so the boards were pretty badly sunbleached. It was a family heirloom, and we restored it to its former glory!

We got two beautiful monkeypod slabs recently. As soon as we have time, we're gonna finish them! This one will be a dining table, and the other one will become a desk, most likely. This is 6.5' tall!
